A simple agreement for using the Checkpoint website and, when available, the iPhone app.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use apply when you visit the Checkpoint website or use the Checkpoint app. By using either service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Who may use Checkpoint
You must be at least 13 years old to use Checkpoint, and older if the law where you live requires it. Checkpoint is not offered to people located in France. You are responsible for following the laws that apply to you.
3. The service
Checkpoint is designed to help you save what you were working on, where you stopped, and your next step. Features may change as development continues. We may suspend or discontinue all or part of the service when needed, including for maintenance, security, or legal reasons.
The app is currently in development. Any preview, description, or sample shown on the website is illustrative and may differ from the released app.
4. Sign-in and iCloud
The planned app uses Sign in with Apple and private iCloud sync. Apple provides those services under its own terms. You are responsible for keeping your Apple account and device secure, and for maintaining access to the Apple account used for iCloud. Sync and reminders depend on your device, settings, network, and Apple services.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of checkpoint text and other content you create. You are responsible for the content you save and for keeping another copy of anything important to you. The app is designed to store your checkpoints in your private iCloud account and does not provide a shared public feed.
You agree not to use Checkpoint to store or share content unlawfully, infringe another person’s rights, or interfere with the service or other users.
6. Permission to use the app
While you follow these terms, Yesser Benamara gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to use Checkpoint for its intended purpose. Apple’s App Store terms and standard app licence may also apply to an iPhone app downloaded from Apple.
The Checkpoint name, design, software, and website materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. This permission does not transfer ownership of them to you.
7. Pricing
Pricing and paid features have not been finalized. If a paid feature or subscription is introduced, its price, billing period, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms will be shown before purchase. Purchases made through Apple are billed and managed under Apple’s applicable purchase and subscription terms. Mandatory consumer rights still apply.
8. No guarantee of uninterrupted service
Checkpoint is provided as available. We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, compatible with every device, or able to preserve or sync every item without interruption. Do not rely on Checkpoint as the only copy of important information.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited, or takes away consumer rights that cannot be waived. To the extent permitted by law, Yesser Benamara is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data caused by events outside reasonable control, or interruptions in Apple or network services.
10. Changes
These terms may change as Checkpoint develops. The latest version will appear on this page with an updated date. If a change materially affects your rights or use of the service, we will provide notice where required by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law, subject to any mandatory consumer protections and rules that apply in your country of residence. Courts with jurisdiction under those mandatory rules remain available to you.
